“Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day.”
- Mark Twain
I just finished reading the book "Eat that Frog" by Brian Tracy and it was one of those books that I read within a day! (which is a really rare occasion) Overview of the topics here.
The main message is what Mark Twain put in really nice words. However in a less literal way. Brian Tracy talks about the benefit of doing the "hardest/most annoying/yet most important" task on your to-do list as a first thing in the morning (or whenever you start working). Apparently our brain is wired in such a way that we will get such a HIGH (better than any drug you can think of :) ) by the pride of your accomplishment that you will keep performing better throughout the day. He then goes into detail how it is vital to have personal long term and short term plans (and GOALS!) in order to accomplish more. Let it be work or private life, clearly formulated goals will certainly bring you further in life! Conclusion: Exceptionally motivating to think about personal goals and to get things done!
Being a to-do list and planning freak myself (uncertainty avoidance index high :) see Hofstede theory for reference :) ) I enjoyed reading about the benefits of it.
So for the following week expect an even more organized and determined Taty that will not give in when procrastination knocks on the door!
I hope you had brilliant weekend and I can't wait to present you the very first story about one of my friends!
